Women’s Reproductive Task Force

"Motherhood must be a choice. It cannot be chosen for us."

~Leslie Ahuvah Fails

Mission

Unitarian Universalists have a long history of supporting a woman’s right to bodily autonomy and healthcare privacy. After the 2022 Supreme Court decision which removed federal protections to women’s rights, the  Women’s Reproductive Task Force was formed for the purpose of keeping the congregation engaged in this work for equality and justice.
Goals:

  1. To educate and engage the congregation in the area of women’s reproductive freedom.

  2. To participate with local, state and federal organizations working to reclaim and protect women’s bodily autonomy.

UUA Connection

The 2022 UUA General Assembly, delegates voted on two justice “Actions of Immediate Witness” Resolutions. The full text of these are available at UUA.org.  One addresses anti-racism and one supports reproductive justice and the right to “personal bodily autonomy” and our “moral responsibility to demand and ensure that abortion protections are codified into law.” Both resolutions will inform our the work of our committees.
